I have been going to Jeri for semi private and private Pilates sessions for about 4 years. About 2 years ago my hip osteoarthritis began worsening. I was told that I really needed both hips replaced. I finally took the plunge and had both hips replaced about 4 months apart in 2015. Although I was in physical therapy, I believe my private Pilates sessions after the replacement surgeries were actually more helpful. Jeri’s knowledge of the anatomy of the body and how to adapt/create exercises specific to my needs in a safe and productive manner is fantastic. The healing and strengthening of both hips was gradual, but today I have more flexibility and rotation in my hips than I ever have had in my adult life. Thanks Jeri and Pure and Simple Pilates! Jeri, I want to tell you that I so appreciate your work with me. You have helped me to overcome my back problems which were so bad I was afraid to come to you! I notice so much more flexibility and am now conscious of not hiking hips and using proper position for the back – not tucking and keeping neutral. I always feel a general looseness in back and hips that I never knew was available to me. It’s a feeling of being taller and decompressed. It’s really a great feeling!

I have visited Jeri Ryan’s Pilates studio a number of times for strength and injury prevention. Jeri is has both natural talent and abundant academic knowledge about Pilates. She can adapt exercises to fit my body type and personal workout routine/goals. I am not a ‘Pilates person’ but have used moves she has taught me to help with my Kung Fu. I believe her work benefits everyone.
